The best flavours and spices in Manchester. Genuinely one of the best curry houses in the north west. Can't be beaten. So light and clean. But really punches with flavour.

5-Star Review for a family run, award winning restaurant, with dishes created bybthe owner and his daughter hence flavour combinations that dance on your palate: The Great Kathmandu, Manchester – A Culinary Pilgrimage Worth Every Bite Step aside, mediocrity — The Great Kathmandu isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a temple of taste perched in the heart of West Didsbury, Manchester, where every dish is a devotion and every spice a prayer answered. From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in an atmosphere that whispers elegance and excellence in equal measure. The lighting? Just right. The service? So attentive, they’d notice if your soul was thirsty. And the food? Ah, the food — a symphony of Himalayan majesty wrapped in garlic naan. The vegan momo dumplings? Silky pockets of joy with a dipping sauce that might just bring a tear to your eye. The lamb korma? Smoky, slightly spicy, and so tender it clearly has trust issues. The special mixed grill? So juicy, and tasty, absolutely worth having, would happily feed two. It would need a couple of sherpas to carry up a mountain! Warning the chapattis are the size of dinner plates!! Every dish is layered, balanced, and executed with the precision of a Michelin-starred monk. This isn’t just dinner — it’s a guided expedition up the flavor mountains, led by chefs who know their way around authenticity like Sherpas of the stove. The Great Kathmandu doesn’t just live up to the hype — it serenades it, roasts it to perfection, and serves it with a side of mint chutney. Run, don’t walk. Book the table. Order everything. And when your tastebuds ascend to a higher plane, just whisper: Namaste. Incredible hosts and atmosphere, best utensils to checkout their hilarious Instagram and look out for new nights during the week.

Amazing food and service. Easy to see why they have won so many awards from national competitions. Family run and very community focused. Very tasty, well presented meals. So good to experience Nepalese food. The chef's special TANDOORI CHICKEN SHAK-SHU-KA (METHI) is delicious, The LAMB KARAHI and the peswari nan were very taste. Very popular even early evening. Will definitely be back.

Banging vegan food. As a large party we were served rapidly and the food was very tasty. Nice atmosphere and it was busy with locals which is a good sign as a visitor.

We absolutely loved it! The food was unbelievable and the price/quality ratio us really good (40 for two people with 2 pints). The restaurant is always quite busy and the atmosphere is lively without being too loud. I highly recommend booking as you might not find a free table. I will definitely be going back soon!
